Our first ever Donor Recognition event was held at Nottingham’s Council House on Wednesday 11 February. Designed to celebrate their generosity and hard work, more than 170 fundraisers were invited as a big thank you for the £172,000 they’ve raised over the last year.
“We’re very grateful to our donors,” says Barbara Cathcart, NUH Charity Director. “As we look back on our achievements over the past year, we recognise how much effort and commitment they’ve put in. So this was an evening for them, to celebrate what’s been achieved and look to the future.”
The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Gul Nawaz Khan has chosen NUH Charity as his charity of the year. He welcomed guests to the Nottingham Council House, which was kindly provided free of charge.
In his concluding speech, Mr Douglas MacMillan, Consultant Breast Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals, highlighted the enormous difference NUH Charity donations have made to the standard of care the Breast Institute is able to deliver. We’d like to say a big thank you to all our volunteer fundraisers – you make such a difference to our patients!
