Mayor of Rushcliffe donation

October 15th, 2009

NUH Charity is delighted to have received a donation of over £15,000 from the Mayor of Rushcliffe. Cllr Barrie Cooper, Mayor of Rushcliffe in 2008/09, selected NUH Charity as his ‘Charity of the Year’ and worked tirelessly to raise funds for the benefit of critically ill children at NUH.Mayor of Ruschliffe presents cheque

The Mayor of Rushcliffe established an appeal specifically to raise money for the purchase an Ultrasonic Cardiac Output Monitor, or USCOM. This non-invasive cardiac output monitor measures the heart function of critically ill children, and removes the need for invasive needle lines which are a cause of additional upset and stress for already vulnerable young patients. The equipment is mostly used to monitor children who have been admitted to Intensive Care.

The Mayor’s appeal got off to a flying start and his total was topped off by a generous donation from Nottingham’s Cardiac Support Group.

Our thanks go to Cllr Barrie Cooper and all those who contributed towards raising this magnificent sum.
