Are you looking for an exciting new challenge for 2010? Do you want to get involved in fundraising for a local charity?
If so, look no further. Nottingham University Hospitals Charity is welcoming volunteers to help fundraise in a variety of ways over the coming year.
NUH Charity exists to support the work that takes place at Nottingham University Hospitals’ (NUH) Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital campuses. Donations to the charity are used to enhance patient care at NUH by providing specialist equipment, medical research and staff training.
The charity is local to Nottingham and is dedicated to helping provide the best possible service for patients and staff at the city’s hospitals.
There are dozens of fundraising opportunities and ideas, including coffee mornings, quiz nights, balls, raffles, auctions, and sponsored swims or runs. More daring volunteers could even take part in an abseil, skydive or bungee jump, climb Mount Kilimanjaro or take part in a Great Wall of China trek!
Here at NUH Charity we are more than happy to help you organise your own event, or you could help with one of our events by signing up or selling tickets.
One of our longest-serving volunteers is Pat Bassett, from Keyworth, who has been fundraising for NUH Charity for more than 18 years by organising sponsored walks.
She said: “At NUH Charity, people are there to point you in the right direction. I’ve been doing it for many years and I’ve always had a lot of support, so for me it’s hard work but we’ve always had good results. It’s a lot of fun as well!”

We organise events every year to thank our volunteers, who are a wonderful group of people with the common goal of supporting their local hospital.”
