News update about NUH Charity

After recent press coverage about NHS charitable funds, Nottingham University Hospitals Charity would like to reassure its donors and fundraisers about a possible upcoming change in accounting legislation.

A number of national newspapers recently reported that NHS charity accounts may be forced to combine with NHS Trust accounts, leading to fears that trusts with successful charities might have their Government funding cut.

However, NUH Charity would like to assure our supporters that we are an independent, registered charity, which means that this potential change in the law would not affect the charity, or Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

NUH Charity exists to support the work that goes on at NUH’s Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital campuses. Donations to the charity are used to enhance patient care at NUH by providing specialist equipment, medical research and staff training.

We would like to reassure all our supporters that NUH Charity will continue to run in the same way if the new accounting laws come into force.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact NUH Charity on 0115 962 7905.
