We know that a pleasant, comfortable environment can help our patients recover much more quickly — so we were thrilled to be able to make this a reality with colourful new infection-resistant curtains for both the QMC and City Hospital
The new bed and window curtains have now replaced all the curtains and blinds that used to be in place across both campuses. Specially designed for the Trust, they're decorated with some of Nottinghamshire's most famous faces and landmarks — including Robin Hood, Wollaton Park Hall, and Trent Bridge.
The project was the biggest hospital installation of curtains anywhere in the country, using 83km of fabric! And what's more, the curtains are also the first in the UK to incorporate Cliniweave — a groundbreaking anti-microbial technology that's proven to fight infections like C.diff, MRSA and E.coli.
Maintaining patient dignity is another key target for the Trust, so the curtains also feature a message to remind staff and visitors to respect patient privacy and dignity when the curtains are closed.
