Pat Basset keeps on walking

Dedicated fundraiser Pat Bassett from Keyworth got her friends and family together for the 17th year running to take part in a sponsored walk in aid of NUH Charity.

This year, Pat decided to give funds raised by the walk to children suffering from cancer, who are being treated in the Children's Hospital on QMC campus. Sixty fundraisers joined her on the day, raising a grand total of £3,538 — a fantastic achievement!

Over the past 17 years, Pat's fundraising events have raised more than £43,000 for Hayward House, the Urology Centre, the Breast Institute and now the Childrens' Hospital. Thanks to Pat and her friends and family, we've been able to make all of these units much more pleasant for patients and relatives.

Pat says: "I wanted to say thank you to Hayward House for the care my mother received, thank you to the Urology Centre for the care my husband received, and another thank you for the care my granddaughter received in the Children's Hospital."
